Lauren hails from the USA and has wanted to work in the animal care industry for as long as she can remember. She married an Aussie and moved down to the Southern Hemisphere in 2011. Not feeling completely fulfilled with her job back in the states, she began actively pursuing a career working with animals. She started off volunteering at Taronga Zoo, and managing a veterinary clinic in Sydney. She loved it so much that she decided to get her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing and hasn’t looked back! She and her husband moved to Wollongong in 2017, and Lauren started working at Companion Animal Vets in December of that year.
Lauren volunteers with Wollongong Animal Rescue Network in her spare time, doing admin and foster caring. She has 3 darling cats at home: Pippi, Cali, and her newest kitten Archie, who has put himself in charge of showing the foster kittens the ropes.
Lauren has a huge passion for animal welfare and has recently completed a Fear-Free certification course. She is enjoying being able to share that knowledge and making a trip to the vet less stressful, and more fun for our patients.
